Meeting with Uncle

27th Nov: I have already shifted to Bangalore for my first job in banking industry (Quant Profile). Its already close to five months in the job. So far, I am in learning phase and found my job pretty hassle free. One of my distant uncle-in-relation has recently moved to Bangalore. Today, I was invited for dinner. I met them yesterday for UID making as a "Aadhar"(UID) campaign was organized for his office employees. I am just summarizing some of the things which I noticed/learnt from this meeting ( primarily for me & my brother but, for others too):

1. Never criticize\small talk about others. Don't listen, other doing small talk. Everytime you small talk about others, some other will be doing the same for you.

Remember
"Low people talk about people, medium people talk about events, higher people talk about ideas"

Please don't talk too much. Just keep track of your work. Remember you are not here to make friends. Remain friendly, not anything more.

2. Respect individual's identity. Don't compare yourself with others. Never do this mistake. Compare with your ownself. Don't go for hi-fi job. Access yourself, take some job according and complete it nicely. Thats is ladder for success. Not taking big jobs and not finishing it.

3. Set your goals, set your priorities, set your values and what you want to do in life. Do what makes you happy and also set people which you want to make happy.

4. Do job only for you and your chosen one's happiness. If company gets benefit by any chance, its company's luck.

5. Go for value addition rather than salary hike. Try for your value addition. WHat happens is that people keep on changing job for salary hike. But, you should upgrade yourself to such a level that you can do it completely. Then, only you ask for higher role. Most of the people don't pay this price. They work long hours but, don't aim proper inputs or, develop value. Concentrate on "How you can do the given work more efficiently." Be proactive !! Do your job properly first, do your boss's job then silently. Take it to level that he may start depending on you. Develop skill as per your boss's skill. Try to do his work and if not getting, demand that level work. Either he will give you his work or, refer to course that will utilize that level of work.

6. Stay in some job until it adds value to you or, you are able to contribute something useful to it. If not, that should be your last day :P
